Hello,  I was raised in Speer from 1949 to 1968.  Graduated from Wyoming HS in 1965.  Currently retired in Phoenix, AZ.  I spend much of my time doing genealogy research of my family and of history in general.  My Stark County family were descendents of David Martin of Stark.  He settled there after the Civil War and was a blacksmith in Stark.  I still have a few relatives in Wyoming, although most of them now live in or near Princeville.

I was reading your website to get the early history of Stark county.

I have information that ancestors of mine by the name of George E Malcolm Born 1877  , Sadie Hill Malcolm born 1887  and Sylveter A Malcolm born 1837  were all born in Wyoming Stark Cty IL.  Couldn't find their names or even family names in you site.  Does that mean my info may be wrong?  I am a newbie

Thank you for the site.  Sincerely Tina

it always gives me great pleasure whenever I return to this web site. As the home town of my relatives, I appreciate seeing all. I am the great grandson of James and Alma Wead. I frequently travel through Wyoming and always stop at the family plot as well as visit the old farm area. My best time is stopping in front of the ole house. I have a picture of my great great grandfather (James S.) holding my grandfather (James Kerr) in front of the "Doctor" house.

I sprinkled my father's (James Scott Wead, Sr.) ashes in the Spoon, right outside (south) of town in October 2003.

Regards,

James Scott Wead, Jr.

I came across a Genealogy website that has many Stark County Family Histories available for purchase.  I bought one of them for my family and it was full of information I didn not have.  If you get a chance to find your family history on here I'd recommend you buy it.  This person has done alot of work and has alot of information you will not find on the internet but only spending several hours and days upon days in the library or driving around I'd imagine.
