| Visitor Comments: Hi, I'm a descendant of one of those German migrants. I grew up in a small community close to Marburg and I remember the pub, Marburg motors, the old National bank building [my Dad used to visit the Bank Manager there from time to time] and I remember the Lutheran Churches - think I've been to every one and had cousins and many relatives who were members of those churches. Some of my aunties, uncles and my parents' friends are buried in the Marburg cemetery. Your photographs brought back a lot of memories for me. I really enjoy your website because I too have a fascination with church buildings. Best regards, Shanelle |

| Visitor Comments: Hey! Very nice pictures... Why not more of Cuervo? the other side of the street is really interesting especialy the Edsel in the front garden...the Trading Post at Meteor City is open for trade and doing pretty good when I stopped in Aug. 2009. The Bent Door is no longer abandoned, I met the new owner in April 2009. Since the Pixar movie Cars, the old route 66 is pickin up just a little. I make 2 or 3 trips from Oklahoma to San Francisco, a year and try to stay on 66 as often as I can. Not as easy as the first time my parents piled us in the car for the Summer road trip to my grandparents. Again Nice Pictures! |

| Visitor Comments: Thank you. I needed a photo of the church where my grandparents were married in 1916 to 'flesh out' the family history.

Visitor Comments: g'day mate, I stumbled across your site while doing some research on Esk. I was there recently while visiting my daughter who lives near Ipswich. they have an accounting office in Esk. I am also a ghostowner here in Saskatchewan (Canada), so I understand your love for old, abandoned things. I belong to a group with a web site. I would give you the link, but you need a membership to see the photos. we had too many 'visitors' who used the site as a resource to loot or vandalize these places Anyway, I enjoyed your photos. I took many photos while in Queensland & am in the process of creating photo journals. You may want to see them sometime on my homepage at World is Round... Lorraine, Canada |

Visitor Comments: And again with Gatton. The name of the first building at Our Lady of Good Counsel is called the Daniel Walsh Building named after a former priest. Throughout my schooling there, 1998-2004, it was used for a hall, then a library/technology lab, and I believe it has now been turned back into a hall. The second building, the Convent, was abandoned, and used for a little storage until the last years of my schooling when it was renovated and now the local Priest lives inside. It was used for the Nuns who used to teach at the school and students who boarded. It contains many rooms, an also a small chapel. Neither buildings are being used for administration purposes.
I hope this was of use to you. |
